Lyons College has implemented a robust governance framework to ensure that the organisation meets its objectives and goals efficiently and effectively.
Lyons College is committed to providing innovative high-quality education outcomes for its students, whilst continuing to meet its financial and regulatory obligations and responsibilities.
It achieves these outcomes by enacting a robust governance framework through the following governing bodies of the organisation:
The Lyons College Board of Directors is the primary corporate governing body of Lyons College and is responsible for monitoring and continuous improvement of all of Lyons College’s major functions. The Board is responsible for the strategy and governance of Lyons College. The Board is also the primary decision-making body of Lyons College, charged with shaping the agenda and policy of Lyons College. The Board has delegated academic governance of higher education matters to the Academic Board through the Academic Board Terms of Reference.
The Lyons College Board of Directors (Board) is responsible for the corporate governance of the College’s higher education operations. The Board delegates the higher education academic governance to the Academic Board (AB).
While the AB is established by the Board and the AB reports to the Board on matters considered to be of strategic importance, the Board delegates the highest level of decision-making authority on academic matters and academic policy to the AB.
The AB is responsible for the academic governance of Lyons College’s higher education operations and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) delegated with executive authority for the management of higher education operations.
The Finance, Risk and Audit Committee (FRAC) has been constituted under the authority of the Board of Directors. The FRAC is responsible for providing advice to the Board on finance, risk and audit functions.
The purpose of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee is to provide assistance to the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities in relation to Lyon’s College’s risk, control and compliance framework, financial statement responsibilities and financial management framework.
The Learning and Teaching Committee (LTC) has been constituted under the authority of the Academic Board (AB). The LTC is responsible for providing advice and making recommendations to the AB in relation to learning and teaching for the higher education programs of Lyons College and for the development of new courses.
The Course Advisory Committee (CAC) has been constituted under the authority of the Academic Board (AB). The CAC is responsible for providing the Learning and Teaching Committee (LTC) with industry and content specific advice on academic course requirements, design and innovations.
