Professor Colin Clark

Board Chair and Director

Colin is part-time at Victoria University as Professor of Accounting and Director of the Victoria Business Confucius Institute.

He has been Dean International at Victoria University and has previously held senior leadership roles as Dean of Business, Executive Dean and Deputy Dean within the former Faculty of Business and Law of Victoria University.

As a professor of accounting, he has been active within the accounting profession and is a former Vice President of CPA Australia and a Past President of the Victorian Division of CPA Australia. He is a past member of the Australian Accounting Standards Board Advisory Group. Colin has received awards for his contribution to the accounting profession. 

He has an extensive publications record including refereed journals, edited books, and government reports.  He has supervised almost 20 doctoral completions.  

Colin has held a number of non-executive director roles in health, professional bodies, and regulatory agencies, and has served as a local government councillor and mayor.  

Colin has undertaken a range of consulting projects, including conducting a ministerial review, producing a report of the Estimates Committee of the Victorian parliament, and a number of reviews of legislation under the national competition policy.  International projects he has undertaken include conducting a review of the Audit Office of the Solomon Islands and drafting legislation to establish a national audit office; and, leading an AusAID project on public sector reform in South Africa.

Professor Charles Qin OAM

Charles Qin has more than thirty years of experience as a Mandarin interpreter and Chinese translator.

Charles has worked at Olympic and Commonwealth Games, APEC, G20, United Nations, World Expo, FTA negotiations. First ever interpreter to provide simultaneous interpreting in Parliament House for the inaugural visit of President Hu Jintao.

He has worked for President Xi Jinping, Chinese Premiers Li Keqiang and Wen Jiabao, Australian Prime Ministers Howard, Rudd, Gillard, Abbott, Turnbull and Morrison amongst many other Presidents, Prime Ministers, CEOs and VIPs of different countries; Also a prolific translator, translated publications.

He is a Visiting/Adjunct Professor at a number of Chinese universities and an adjunct fellow of Monash University; a senior AUSIT practitioner and President of the Chinese Interpreters and Translators Association of Australia; He was made Honorary Fellow of Monash University in 2018.

Winner of the Excellence in Interpreting Award (AUSIT) in 2013 and 2018; Winner of Melbourne Award in 2018; In the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2016, Charles was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his services to international relations through his work as a Translator and Interpreter.

Ms Su Liu

Independent Director

Ms. Su Liu brings a unique mixture of industry experience and sales and marketing expertise to Lyons College. She was a successful Managing Director and CEO of a private education provider and a qualified English Language Teacher(ELICOS). She worked as a Senior Sales and Marketing Manager at a prestigious international property company for several years. Su obtained her Master’s Degree in Applied Linguistics(TESOL) at The University of Melbourne.
